Title III Manager

PURPOSE:

This role's primary duties include managing day-to-day project management, planning and implementation, maintenance of records, communication/reporting, including personnel and budget management, evaluation, and compliance for the Title III grant. This individual works closely with the Director of Sponsored Programs and Title III, Project Directors, and administrative staff to monitor, analyze, and manage project activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate and work with project directors to carry out the project's objectives, performance measures and implementation plans.
  • Develop, coordinate, organize, and monitor program activities and plans.
  • Track data, outcomes, and present information in compliance with federal requirements.
  • Utilizes and maintains specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking grant projects, awards, and related statistical information; creates and distributes reports, summaries, and analyses, as required.
  • Assist Director of Sponsored Programs and Title III by collecting necessary information from project directors for quarterly, interim and annual reports.
  • Develop and implement an effective evaluation and assessment process to measure progress of projects and performance measures.
  • Assists in the development of and execution of new or revised programs, procedures, and practices.
  • Design, facilitate, and assess a campus engagement strategy to ensure shared understanding of and support of Title III goals and objectives.
  • Provide duties such as financial record keeping, and fiscal management for all Title III funded activities.
  • Stay informed on laws, policies, and procedures necessary to comply with Federal, State, and University guidelines in relation to grant proposal submission.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels and procedures to assure that the operation of the project remains congruent with the goals of guided pathways implementation and overall intuitional development.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal rules and regulations of grant administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, three or more years of experience in project management, program oversight, grant administration, or directly related/similar experience.
  • Master's degree demonstrating general knowledge of various technical field with 5 years of experience in sponsored program or Title III. Professional experience in an environment, such as a university or non-profit agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Potential to work effectively with the culture and values of Lincoln University and be able to work comfortably within a diverse and shared services organizational model.
  • Extensive broad-based knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of oral and written communications and interpersonal skills to determine the most effective method to present persuasive proposals to potential funding sources.
  • Knowledge of federal research funding agencies and their associated guidelines.
  • Strong writing, planning, organizational, and management skills.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to write and speak persuasively about the institution.
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects, meeting strict deadlines, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of computer applications such as word processing. Excel, electronic data tracking, internet, websites, Facebook, etc.
  • Flexibility and initiative, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand a variety of research disciplines, gained through experience and/or training or an openness to learning new disciplines to best assist faculty and staff.
  • Knowledge of budgets and financial management for grants.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
  2. Light sedentary office work.
  3. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  4. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Work performed in a general office environment.
  2. May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods.
