Student Accounts Counselor I
Position Summary
Provides customer support to students and other customers via telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face interactions. Provides and extremely high level of accuracy, efficiency, and confidentially while providing excellent customer service.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Places restrictions on student's accounts.
- Assists students with understanding and resolving their accounts.
- Generates collection reports, coordinating collection efforts on past due balances.
- Answers e-mails and phone calls.
- Assists in collections as needed.
- Acts as casher back-up.
- Executes collection efforts via phone calls and written communication.
- Processes returned mail.
- Serves as back-up to Financial Services Assistant/Cashier.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to multi-task.
- Proficient with Microsoft office products and enterprise financial software systems.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Attentive to details and listens well.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three years' office experience preferred.
- Experience in Higher Education preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk an working on a computer.
