Position Summary:
The Assistant Football/Special Teams Coordinator supports the Head Football Coach in the administration of the Lincoln University football program. The Assistant Football/Special Teams Coach is responsible for overseeing special team's player personnel and assisting with the administration of football activities delegated by the Head Football Coach. The Special Teams Coordinator also conducts daily responsibilities while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and institutional guidelines and policies.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of special teams' strategy and player personnel.
- Assist the Head Football Coach with recruiting, student-athlete personal/professional development, academic advising, scouting reports, film review, and game preparations.
- Operate within the guidelines of Lincoln University, GLVC, and NCAA Rules and Regulations.
- Support Head Coach with maintaining atmosphere of compliance, student-athlete wellbeing, diversity, equity & inclusion, and championship culture.
- Collaborate extensively with other departments on campus including but not limited to Student Affairs, Provost/Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Advancement, and Student Success.
- Conduct internal/external engagement, i.e. phone, email, mailing, zoom with various constituent groups including but not limited to faculty, staff, students, university personnel, donors, alumni, and fans.
- Travel required as it relates to position's responsibilities.
- Other responsibilities/duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach or VP of Advancement and Athletics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate special teams coaching knowledge.
- Excellent writing, oral, communication interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Attentive to details, active listener, and demonstrate emotional intelligence.
- Ability to promote an ethical and professional work culture focusing on providing exceptional service to Lincoln University students, alumni, donors, colleagues, and other University stakeholders.
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with internal and external constituent groups.
- Ability to breakdown game film.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- 5 years coaching experience at a High School level or above. Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, domestic traveling and standing on field.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
