Senior Director for Graduate Student Success and Professional Development

Purpose:

The Senior Director will be an integral part of the team providing services to students in programs supported by Graduate and Extended Studies. The primary focus of the position will be to increase the number of students and the number of programs in graduate studies.

Essential Job Functions:

Graduate Studies:

  • Graduate student recruitment activities including but not limited to: recruitment fairs, virtual events, social media generation.
  • Collecting and processing student applications for admission.
  • Serve as a liaison with department heads/faculty and University Relations to create marketing materials.
  • Serv as an ex-officio member of the Graduate Council.
  • Assist with graduate Assistant placements, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Prepare and host the annual Command College enrollment event.
  • Assist faculty and/or staff with graduate degree program development.
  • Assist faculty and/or staff with graduate certificate program development.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate on committees as assigned.
  • Provide reports to the dean including regular updates on enrollment trends.
  • Collaborate with Online Learning to propose policies and procedures for fully online degree programs.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage online faculty in graduate programs.
  • Help design and maintain the integrity of a branded course "shell" for course development.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Ed.D. required, candidates must hold or be eligible for graduate faculty status at Lincoln University. Senior director level experience with career services mandatory.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:

  • Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, develop communication strategies and work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must understand the many facets of marketing a dynamic university.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy.
  • High degree of organization, ability to engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential University information.
  • Travel on occasion may be required as it related to position's responsibilities.
  • May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods.

Physical Demands:

  1. Light sedentary office work.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  3. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
