Residential Director

Position Summary

The Residential Director assumes responsibility for the development of a residential hall environment that is conducive to personal academic and social growth. The Residential Director resides on-site to ensure the efficient operation of the residence halls.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent quality interaction with residents to actively contribute and improve their sense of belonging to Lincoln University.
• Proactively counsel, mentor, and coach students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Actively assist in the opening and closing of residence halls throughout the year.
• Manage numerous special projects with a focus on elevating the overall living experience for students.
• Ensure order and safety are a priority for all residents.
• Ensure all room assignments, activities, and changes are completed properly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Initiate and implement relevant and timely educational programming.
• Ability to provide accurate and timely information to residents and various team members as needed.
• Ability to evaluate and assess staffing needs, processes, and procedures to improve overall operations.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, or related field required.
• One year or more of experience in residential life or housing.

Physical Requirements

• Light sedentary office work.
• Ability to move throughout the residence halls including stairs.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
