Research Technician II - Bio-Technology
Position Summary
The Research Technician II will run experiments using a wide range of spectroscopy instruments and assist the principle investigator in daily operation and effort, and in achieving the research objectives of multiple research projects in Bio-Technology.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Run experiments using a wide range of spectroscopy.
- Conduct laboratory analysis, compile results, and publish scientific findings.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the lab.
- Assist students with laboratory exercises and research projects, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Broad understanding of Agriculture and Environmental Science.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, or related field is required.
- Experience in running experiments using a wide range of spectroscopy instruments, including fluorimeter, nano-drop, mass-spectroscopy, PCR and others is required.
Physical Requirements
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
