Program Educator Assistant- JC

Position Summary

Working under the direction of a senior program staff member, this position assists with the Develpment and maintenance of Extension programs.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining databases and other; records, preparing and proofreading correspondence, reports and other documents, as requested

• Assist supervisor with management of financial and in-kind resources

• Assist in reporting accomplishments and impacts to stakeholders

• Help initiate, plan, coordinate and conduct educational events, contests, and programs

• Will take minutes of meetings when requested by supervisor, maintain registration participant enrollment information, assist the supervisor in generating reports, assist in preparation of grant and other extramural funding proposals, and other duties, as assigned

• May supervise students and volunteers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Required: Strong written and oral communication skills, computer proficiency and the ability to both work independently and to function as part of a larger team

• Preferred: Ability to use social media to assist senior staff with teaching and program promotion; the ability to read, speak and understand Spanish

Education and Experience

Required: High school diploma/equivalency

Preferred: High school diploma/equivalency and hours toward an undergraduate degree; two

(2) years' experience working with diverse audiences to include low income, hard-to-reach, ethnic minorities

Required: High School diploma/equivalency and hours toward an undergraduate degree, Experience working with families from marginalized communities as well as low-income, ethnically diverse individuals

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods

• Occasional ability to lift, carry, and put away parcels

• Normal physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job

• Normal physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place

• Normal physical strength to handle routine office materials and tools

• Normal endurance
