Powell Garden Program Coordinator
Position Summary
To create, develop and implement programming for the collaboration between Lincoln University College of Agriculture, Environmental and Human Sciences and Powell Gardens, Inc. through the Agriculture Center for Empowerment (ACE).
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Coordinate business and community development efforts that enhance the mission of both organizations (Powell Gardens and LUCE).
- Create, prioritize and execute an educational and research plan leveraging areas of both organizations.
- Develop and establish benchmarks and timelines; develop metrics and management systems to ensure success
- Gather input from key internal and external stakeholders; provide detailed reports and information to the Executive Committee to inform future decision-making.
- Consider budget implications, facility, and maintenance requirements, program requirements and development and marketing opportunities in proposed programming.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in the use of technology to achieve goals - including project management systems, Microsoft Office Excel, and social media platforms
- Must be able to create, administer, monitor, and report on business plans, metrics and budgets
- Public speaking skills
- Successfully secure extramural funding - including grant funding
- Preferred: The ability to read, speak, and understand Spanish
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, plant science, environmental science or a closely related field
- Some business or management coursework from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience working with youth, communities and families
- 5+ years of experience in ecological, property and landscape design and management with an emphasis on project management and implementation.
- 5+ years managing projects and programs from concept to execution in a leadership role
- Experience teaching and presenting via distance learning technologies
- Experience using social media to teach and develop audience contacts
Physical Requirements
- Light sedentary office work
- Prolonged periods of computer work and sitting
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
