Photographer and Social Media Specialist

Purpose:

This position supports communication and marketing efforts by taking clear, dynamic photos according to project specifications. This position is responsible for managing social media accounts. The Photographer will play a pivotal role in translating concepts into visual narratives, leveraging your creativity and technical expertise. This is a full time, full benefit-eligible position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Communicate with staff to set up a time and place for photoshoot; accompany writers to assignments as needed.
• Maintain and manage photography equipment.
• Capture and process images until objectives are achieved; arrange objects, scenes, lighting, and background to adhere to assignment specifications.
• Constantly improve image quality using editing techniques.
• Collaborates with Team to develop and post social media content that is relevant to current CAEHS events, the agriculture industry, and Lincoln University.
• Submit edited photos to meet deadlines and maintain a detailed image archive.
• Select photographs for fact sheets, guide sheets, flyers, social media posts, articles, newsletters, etc.
• Assist with website and social media accounts as needed.
• Support special assigned projects and events as needed.
• Comply with all federal, state, and university reporting requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Technical and Communication Skills:

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Adobe Suite, and relevant design programs.
• Proficiency with DSLR camera and basic editing software with ability to maintain equipment and upload images to cloud and group sharing platforms.
• Strong knowledge using office equipment such as printer, scanner, and telephone.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Photography, Art, or Advertising or other related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Successful candidates will submit a portfolio of their work.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• The position involves occasional travel and evening or weekend work.
