Nutrition and Health Program Educator II
Position Summary
The Human Nutrition and Health Program Assistant I is necessary to increase department productivity.
This position would ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting. This position would assist
with routine nutrition, health, food safety, and health promotion activities under purview of the
coordinator to ensure increased seasonal visibility. The staff member would assist with program delivery
and media relations utilizing evidence-based material approved by the coordinator.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
• Assist with data collection, input, and reporting related to program inputs, outputs, and
impact
• Assist with editing and education material development
• Assist with the development and dissemination of routine health and nutrition
promotion activities, including upkeep and activity on social media sites
• Deliver evidence-based programming under the purview of the coordinator
• Extend LUCE presence at health promotion and community events consistent with the
Lincoln University Cooperative Extension Nutrition (LUCEN) plan of work
• Other duties as assigned by the Nutrition Coordinator and/or Lincoln University
Cooperative administrators
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
• Good grammar, syntax, and word choice skills
• Enjoys interacting and working with people
• Ability to work independently
• Good data entry skills
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience developing, executing, and evaluating educational/health programs
Preferred:
• Experience in health promotion
• Knowledge and sensitivity of diverse cultural needs and learning styles
• Ability to read, speak and understand Spanish
Desirable:
• Education and training in nutrition and health
• Proficient with posting and monitoring social media sites
Education and Experience
Required:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Completed high school or obtained HISTEP/GED
• Demonstrates experience in program development, delivery, and health promotion
Desirable:
• Associate degree or additional education
• Experience working with youth, adults, and seniors
Physical Requirements
1. Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods
2. Occasional ability to lift, carry, and put away parcels weighing up to 60 pounds
3. Normal physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job
taking distance
4. Normal physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place
5. Normal physical strength to handle routine office materials and tools
6. Normal dexterity of hands and fingers
7. Normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot

9. Must not be afraid to demonstrate skills for participants using a hands-on approach
