IT Program Manager

Purpose:

The manager will plan, execute, monitor, control and close one or more simultaneous projects/programs. They will also manage problems and/or project/program portfolios (assessing project/program needs against financial, human resource, strategic goal and other criteria and constraints to optimize the portfolio).

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare and submit project/program charters to functional director/executive sponsor.
• Prepare a project/program plan addressing scope, cost, schedule, quality, and human resources.
• Execute, monitor, and control projects/programs. Set a project/program baseline.
• Ensure all deliverables have been made in accordance with customer requirements and quality standards.
• Prepare and submit project/program closure documentation for review.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in project/Program Management, Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Four years of IT project management experience.
• Three years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Ellucian Colleague and related Ellucian products.
• Strong IT management, project management, and planning skills.
• Experience working with delivery of online instruction and training.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:

• Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of electronic mail, word processing, and web navigation.
• Ability to navigate on-line web-based information resources including university knowledge base, on-line calendars, and web pages.
• Knowledge of all primary desktop software supported by the University; ability to consult with users at all levels of knowledge; ability to interact with a diverse group of users and managers.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; positive customer service attitude.

None required.

Physical Demands:

• Light sedentary office work.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
