Human Resources Coordinator
Position Summary
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator provides professional human resources services to staff and faculty and facilitates the coordination, administration, and delivery of programs and initiatives. The HR Coordinator also provides technical support to the HR related projects and initiatives including the maintenance of HR policies, programs, and procedures to achieve the strategic goals and operational objectives of the department and Lincoln University.
Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities
- Assist with tracking and implementing HR projects.
- Support the hiring process for staff and faculty vacancies. Partner with the HR Generalist in Recruiting to assist in job openings, background checks and fulfilling hiring needs.
- Participate in the new hire and onboarding process, reviewing and processing required forms, responding to inquiries, providing new employee orientation information, and ensuring consistent onboarding experience for staff and faculty.
- Responsible for human resource reporting including HR metrics.
- Maintain highly confidential records, including vendor contracts and agreements.
- Process, scan, file, and store HR information and documents.
- Manage and support internal communication efforts across departments.
- Interprets and explains HR policies and regulations relating to employees.
- Assists in delivering HR sponsored recognition events, service awards, and other ceremonies.
- Delivers high levels of customer service when responding to inquiries regarding policy and other HR procedures.
- Analyze HR workforce trends and identifies areas for process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of human resources management principles.
- Knowledge and understanding of HRIS systems.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong partnerships with senior executives and all levels of the workforce.
- Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive situations.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy.
- High degree of organization, ability to engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential University information.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in human resources or a related field or at least 3 years of equivalent work experience.
- At least two years of previous work experience in human resources, customer service, administration or a related area of work.
Physical Demands
- Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
- Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collects, compiles, compares, and prepares work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Work Conditions
- Work performed in a general office environment.
- May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods.
