Executive Director of Marketing and Communications

Position Summary

The Executive Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for all facets of the University's brand by developing, coordinating, organizing, and implementing the appropriate marketing strategies to strengthen and facilitate brand awareness by effectively reaching the University's target audience and the community at large.

Salary - $75,000 - $85,000

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Articulates, reinforces, and promotes the mission and vision of Lincoln University while working in partnership with team members across all departmental units to develop communication and marketing strategies that convey critical messages to support the University's growth and development.
  • Manages communication and marketing team members to ensure quality production of publications, printed materials, broadcast projects, and digital communications campaigns.
  • Serves as the University spokesperson during crisis situations to communicate with the media and the local community effectively and accurately. Write speeches and provide talking points for all University signature and community events.
  • Collaborate with team members to produce an integrated marketing strategy reflective of the University's goals and objectives.
  • Manages the annual communication and marketing budgets and other financial resources to ensure funds are utilized according to budgetary guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to be diplomatic and exhibit discretion when communicating with diverse audiences and the public as the first point of contact for Lincoln University.
  • Ability to research, develop, and evaluate marketing plans and programs to correctly measure impact and outcome.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, students, and volunteers to develop and maintain a strategic perspective focused on ensuring the vitality of the University.
  • Exceptional proficiency with web development products and software.
  • Ability to manage the implementation and execution of projects productively.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of job-related experience in media and/or public relations preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Ability to travel domestically for events.
  • Ability to navigate all areas of the University campus and other institutional campuses for events and programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
