E-Learning Specialist

Position Summary

The E-Learning Specialist provides consultation services, training, and support to faculty, staff, and students in the effective use of the LMS (Canvas)to meet teaching, learning, research, and administrative goals and objectives. Provides technical expertise with all internal projects associated with the design, editing, and production of materials related to online education.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Maintain the LMS and all supporting software subscriptions, troubleshoot any issues, and act as a liaison with the ITS office.
• Develop online learning content and review for course effectiveness.
• Aid faculty with incorporation of current technologies into current course curriculum.
• Develop and upload student and instructor training guides and videos for the Canvas Learning Management System.
• Provide group and independent training with eLearning software and technology and technical support for LMS.

• Proactive analytical, technical troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks while working independently or with a team.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work efficiently in an ITS-intensive environment.
• Advanced proficiency working with Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Communication, Instructional Design or Technology, Education, or related field required.
• Two years of experience with LMS operation.

Physical Requirements

• Light sedentary office work.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
