Coordinator of Online Learning

Purpose:

Lincoln University is seeking a highly organized and proactive coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our Canvas LMS as well as managing and supporting the delivery and expansion of online learning programs at Lincoln University. This role involves coordinating course materials, managing virtual learning environments, and providing technical and administrative support.

Essential Job Functions:

Course Coordination

  • Coordinate the planning, development, and delivery of online courses.
  • Work closely with instructors to ensure timely and accurate course material preparation.
  • Manage course schedules and updates in the learning management system. (LMS)

Technical Support

  • Provide technical assistance to students and instructors for online learning tools and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the LMS and other online learning technologies.
  • Liaise with IT support for advance technical issues.

Administrative Support

  • Handle administrative tasks such as enrollment, course registration, and attendance tracking.
  • Maintain and update student records in the LMS.
  • Prepare and distribute course-related communications to students and faculty.

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of online courses and programs.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from students and instructors to improve course content and delivery.
  • Ensure that online courses meet institutional standards and best practices for online education.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Training and Development

  • Conduct training sessions for faculty and students on using online learning tools and resources.
  • Develop and maintain instructional guides, FAQs, and other support documentation.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to enhance online learning experiences.
  • Communicate regularly with instructors and students to provide updates and gather feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in online education or e-learning environments.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle).
  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with online conferencing tools (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • Experience with instructional design and development.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in online education.
  • Certification in e-learning or instructional technology.
