Client Support Technician

Position Summary

The Client Support Technician provides computer hardware and software support. The position is primarily responsible for supporting customers that call, email, or submit tickets to Lincoln University's Helpdesk. Support at the helpdesk includes trouble shooting issues with end users and assisting users with the use of Lincoln University systems. The Client Support Technician also provides on-site support of hardware and software, as needed.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to end users in-person or by electronic means, such as by phone or email.
  • Help end users by diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues.
  • Assist end users by diagnosing and troubleshooting software and operating systems issues.
  • Assist users by providing basic network troubleshooting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of supported operating systems.
  • Ability to understand clients' needs and technical requirements and implement solutions.
  • Ability to identify and resolve various software issues.
  • Ability to respond to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate with people at all levels, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills; willing to provide support after normal business hours, as needed.
  • Ability to properly manage time and workloads without close supervision.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Some experience, formal or informal, working with computer hardware and software is required.
  • Experience assisting customers or end users with technology issues is preferred.
