Associate AD Compliance and Student Success

Purpose:

The Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Success/SWA is charged with executing the day-to-day management and operation of the athletics compliance office. The individual will monitor and enforce matters of NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference, and University rules and regulations, as well as educate and interpret the applicable rules for students-athletes, coaches, and staff on various matters. The Associate AD's responsibilities as Senior Women's Administrator are listed under "Additional Duties" and "Qualifications". This position will overlap for a two-month transition period with the current Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance/SWA.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete athletic eligibility certification of all incoming and returning student-athletes.
  • Conduct education of rules and regulations to student-athletes, coaches, alumni/donors and University constituencies.
  • Monitor weekly CARPA hours.
  • Enroll and monitor the completion of the NCAA Mandatory Coaches Certification tests ensuring completion of mandatory CPR and EAP testing.
  • Monitor and approve all Off-Campus athletic recruiting activities.
  • Completion of Mandatory NCAA forms and ensuring they are submitted on time.
  • Completion and Submission of the EADA Federal Report due Oct 15th.
  • Completion and Submission of NCAA Financial Report due Jan 15th.
  • Completion and Submission of Sexual Violence training to NCAA due May 1st.
  • Completion and Submission of NCAA Graduation rates due June 15th.
  • Completion and Submission of NCAA Academic Success Rate due 8 weeks after the first day of classes in the Fall.
  • Completion of Blue Print Review conducting every 5 years by NCAA.
  • Work with Accounting to complete the NCAA Financial Audit performed every 3 years.
  • Oversee programs assigned by VP of Athletics (sports medicine, strength and conditioning, baseball, softball, and women's soccer).
  • Other responsibilities/duties as assigned by the VP of Advancement and Athletics.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Associate Title IX Deputy for the University.
  • Preparation of all athletic department Human Resource forms. PCR's, PTR's, Position application summaries, Job Advertisements, job descriptions.
  • Complete PTR's for all casual appointments.
  • Requisitions for all athletic off campus housing stipends.
  • Serve as Institutional voter for new legislation at the NCAA National Convention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required - Master's degree, Doctorate, or J.D. preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in an Athletics Compliance Office, Conference Office or NCAA Compliance setting.
  • Understanding of Title IX Applicable handling procedures for compliant's.
  • Understanding of University operating system for requisitions.
  • Understanding of Title IX office complaint procedures.
  • Keep up to date on any legislation that affects the sports medicine world that impacts the departments, operations in sports medicine.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:

  • Requires substantial knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to student-athletes, coaches, alumni/donors, and other institutional constituents.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with coaches, student-athletes, administrators, alumni, and other University constituencies.
  • Exhibit solid negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and NCAA Web-based applications.
  • Experience with TeamWorks and Oendorse software preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Registration:

  • None required.

Physical Demands:

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing when working home events.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
