Assistant Professor/Nursing Faculty
Position Summary
- Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of Lincoln University's School of Nursing
- Recruit individuals to the profession of nursing, Lincoln University, and Lincoln University's Nursing Programs
- Participate as a member of the Nursing Faculty
- Provide instructional supervision for nursing students in diverse hospital and healthcare
practicums - Provide academic advisement for assigned nursing majors.
- Serve as a professional role model for nursing students.
- Collaborate with team members to provide appropriate instructional experiences for
students enrolled in the assigned course. - Collaborate with other nursing faculty in the evaluation and improvement of the overall
program of instruction based on student evaluation and performance on nationally normed
standardized testing protocols. - Plan, implement and evaluate one's own professional development.
- Function within the rules and regulations of Lincoln University and the College of Business
and Professional Studies.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of Lincoln University's Associate of Applied
Science Degree Program in Nursing
- Provide nursing education that prepares students to practice professional nursing in
healthcare systems - Prepare nursing students for undergraduate studies in nursing
- Coordinate clinical sites to insure a broad range of clinical experiences
- Perform systematic program review and revision
- Work collaboratively with other nursing faculty to coordinate class and clinical times
- Update courses on LMS each semester
- Provide appropriate instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing course
- Provide college laboratory experience for assigned students
- Provide 5 office hours per week
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience
• Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Missouri, in good standing.
• Master's in nursing degree with appropriate experience with at least two years of academic or
clinical nursing practice.
Physical Requirements
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
