Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Position Summary:

Tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate students' courses in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, and related fields.
• Develop an active, externally funded research program.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Serve on departmental, college, and intuitional committees.
• Serve as primary departmental subject matter expert in area of cybersecurity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Expertise in cybersecurity required, specifically including development of secure systems, secure coding techniques and strategies, security and penetration testing, cybersecurity systems management, administration, and related foundational areas.
• Ability to teach across the curriculum, including courses in one or more of: project management, systems development, database systems, data analytics, networking, secure coding, and data structures/algorithm analysis.
• Ability to teach a diverse student body.
• Ability to establish an externally funded research program to incorporate undergraduate students.

Education and Experience:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related area is strongly recommended/preferred.
• Master's degree with appropriate professional certification/licensure is minimally accepted.
• Prior experience in engaging diverse undergraduate students is recommended/preferred.
• Prior industry experience or postdoctoral experience is recommended/preferred.
