Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Position Summary

The Assistant Professor of Computer Science position is a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, computer information systems, and related fields.
  • Develop an active, externally funded research program.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Serve on departmental and institutional committees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Desired expertise and skill in one or more of the following: cybersecurity, project management, systems development, database systems, advanced programming techniques.
  • Ability to teach a diverse student body.
  • Ability to establish an externally funded research program to incorporate undergraduate students.

Education and Experience

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field is required.
  • Prior experience engaging diverse undergraduate students is preferred.
