Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Purpose:

Lincoln University of Missouri invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor to teach Chemistry course. This position supports undergraduate and graduate programs, including those in Chemistry, Agriculture, Nursing, and various pre-professional programs. This is a 9-month, tenure track, full benefit-eligible faculty position with responsibilities of 100% teaching.

Essential Job Functions:

• Teach 12 credit hours per semester in undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Serve as an academic advisor for Chemistry majors.
• Develop an academic program and attractive curriculum for Chemistry students.
• Initiate and participate in student recruitment and retention activities.
• Mentor students through student clubs and student research projects.
• Write grant proposals for extramural funding.
• Collaborate with other faculty, educators, and industry partners to conduct relevant research in your area of expertise.
• Publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Other duties as assigned by the academic Department Chair or College Dean.

• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a diverse group of students, staff and faculty.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of learners and student preparation in the classroom.

Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or other closely related field with college/university level teaching experience is required.
• Experience mentoring or supervising student groups is preferred.
• Post-doctoral experience preferred.
