Assistant Professor of Biorenewable Energy and Technology

Position Summary

Lincoln University of Missouri is seeking highly motivated, creative individuals to apply for the Assistant Professor position of Biorenewable Energy and Technology. This is a 12-month, federally funded, non-tenure track, and full benefits-eligible faculty position with 100% research responsibilities.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Develop a high-impact, nationally recognized program that addresses the critical or emergent issues related to biorenewable energy, and biofuel industry.
  • Conduct innovative research and extension activities with an emphasis on urban waste-/agriculture-based bioenergy or biofuel technology including biogas production, energy conversion and reuse technologies.
  • Write grant proposals for extramural funding to support research and extension programs.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Develop collaborative research and extension activities with faculty within the University and in other institutions, and with University farm employees, facility managers, extension educators, farmers, and other industry partners.
  • Contribute to relevant professional societies.
  • May be required to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and conduct outreach activities relevant to their expertise, advise or supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide department, college, or university service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct quality research, publish research articles and secure extramural funding through grant proposal.
  • Interpersonal, effective oral and written communications skills are required.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment with a diverse group of faculties and students is essential.

Education and Experience

  • Candidates with postdoctoral research and teaching experience are preferred.
  • Ph.D. in agriculture engineering, environmental science, and/or engineering, or a closely related field is required.
