Assistant Professor Forest and Natural Resource Management

Position Summary
Lincoln University of Missouri, Jefferson City, MO is seeking highly motivated, creative individuals to apply for an Assistant professor position of Forestry or Natural Resource Management, with a preferred emphasis on forestry research. This is a 12-month, federal­-funded, non-tenure track, full benefit-eligible faculty position with 100% research responsibilities. The incumbent may also be required to teach courses relevant to their expertise, supervise graduate students, and provide department, college and/or university service or any other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Develop a high-impact, nationally recognized research program in forestry/natural resource management
• Conduct innovative field and laboratory research in forest stand dynamics, forest measurement, or ecological silviculture research relevant to Missouri Ozarks and mid-western US
• Write grant proposals for extramural funding
• Publish peer-reviewed journal articles
• Train graduate students
• Develop collaborative projects with faculty within the University and other institutions

Education and Experience Required

• Ph.D. in forestry, natural resources, ecology, environmental science, or closely related field
• Demonstrated ability to conduct quality research
• Demonstrated ability to publish research articles in impactful peer-reviewed journals

Preferred

• Track record of securing extramural funding through grant proposals
• Experience of postdoctoral research and teaching is preferred
