Adult Education and Literacy Director

Position Summary:

The Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Director is responsible for overseeing the AEL grant from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for the Lincoln University Cooperative Extension.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Create, adjust, and manage budgets based on allocation(s) from DESE.
• Create and submit monthly tracking expense reports to DESE>
• Manage personnel by hiring talented and qualified instructor and providing training.
• Assess program success and adjust program policies using data from DESE's data management system.
• Represent the program to local service agencies and serve on boards and committees.
• Serve as liaison between DESE and Lincoln University.

• Professional and detail oriented, with the ability to build rapport among stakeholders.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing AEL environment.
• Must have the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Ability to present information clearly and accurately in a variety of environments.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.
• DESE AEL Director's Certification and Department of Corrections clearance is required.

Physical Requirements

• Light sedentary office work.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
