Administrative Assistant I
PURPOSE:
The Administrative Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support to the Innovative Small Farms Program within the College of Agriculture. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Calendar maintenance, organizing and scheduling appointments, booking travel accommodations, reimbursement reporting.
- Requisition processing, initiating, transferring, and tracking paperwork within the Colleague system.
- Manage procurement of goods and services as needed.
- Coordinate and manage program budgets with supervision.
- Submit and reconcile P-Card expense reports.
- Maintain filing, database, and other record-keeping systems.
- Prepare correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports and maintain confidential information.
- Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and manage email inquiries.
- Manage inventory of all program supplies and materials.
- Assist with HR paperwork in ADP, time and effort reports, and new hire paperwork.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field required.
- One year of office work experience preferred.
- Experience in a higher education institution is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Certifications, Licenses, registrations:
- Successful candidate must have valid Missouri driver's license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekend work may be required.
- Ability to lift, carry and put away parcels weighing up to 25 lbs.
