Adjunct Instructor/Professor of Business Pool Entrepreneurship

Purpose:

This is a Non-Tenure Track Adjunct position in the School of Business. Primary expectations include Teaching undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship business courses (as assigned) both in face-to-face and online formats in the School of Business.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning aligned with ACBSP Standards.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.
  • Provide appropriate classroom and online instruction for students enrolled in assigned entrepreneurship and business course(s).
  • Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
  • Desired discipline-specific teaching with a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness.
  • Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Business. Maintain professional development activities.
  • A record of entrepreneurship as a founder, co-founder, or early employee of at least one successful technology startup, or experience working with or supporting successful startups.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills related to teaching students in class and online.
  • Teaching experience in methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, and detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:

  • The ability to teach in a diverse population of students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum master's degree in business administration or a business-related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Exceptional interest in teaching entrepreneurship and providing mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • A satisfactory criminal background check.

Physical Demands:

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
