Position Summary

Responsible for data entry of payroll records for all full-time, part-time and student employees. Processes and balances payroll for hourly and student employees. Maintains employee files related to payroll. May make electronic payments and upload electronic files to various vendors.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Maintains spreadsheets on employee deductions to aid in balancing of payroll and maintains files for pay records, annuity billing, insurance, misc. deductions, W-4's and of garnishments.
  • Assembles and disburses information per pay period for mailings to vendors as well as transmitting check payments through the Bursar's Office.
  • Performs data entry, balancing and record keeping of deductions for all employees.
  • Reviews data entry and maintains employee information from PTR's and SER's.
  • Maintains accurate, current records for employees (spreadsheets of records and files). Answers questions from employees concerning payroll questions either via telephone or in person.
  • Maintains vendor invoicing, billing, and payments.
  • Sorts and prioritizes all incoming mail and correspondence. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external entities. e Must be proficient and accurate with 10-Key for data entry.
  • Must pay attention to detail and keep accurate log information. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Self-starter and able to work consistently without direct supervision.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years' general office experience required.
  • One year of experience with Microsoft Office 365.

Physical Requirements

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up/move up to 25 lbs.
