Position Summary
Full-time, tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Art. Combining both studio art and graphic design, so knowledge / experience in both areas is needed. Teaching will include color and design, painting, drawing, figure drawing, printmaking, sculpture, fibers, jewelry, gallery management or other art classes as determined necessary.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Teaching and advising students in Art
Help to expand the Fine Arts Program - develop certificate programs in graphic design and create interdisciplinary courses
Create initiatives that involve the general public / community
Mentor students / maintain office hours
Participate in department / college committees and community service Assist with program needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in painting, sculpture, multimedia, fibers, figure drawing, jewelry
Experience with 3-D visualization and rendering, graphic design
Education and Experience
MFA in Studio Art or Graphic Design or equivalent terminal degree required
Experience teaching at the college level of diverse students preferred
Experience in both Studio Art & Graphic Design preferred
Experience in obtaining grants or other external program funding preferred 3-5 years of experience preferred
Physical Requirements
