Director of the Inman E. Page Library


The Director of the Inman E. Page Library is responsible for the overall administration of Lincoln University's administration of library services. The director provides administrative responsibility for planning, budgeting, and decision-making in support of the programs and services of the University Library. This includes supervision of staff, the facility and other resource management and oversight of collections and the acquisition of new materials to support the institution's teaching, learning, and professional development of students, faculty, and staff. The Director of the Inman E. Page Library reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.


Responsibilities:


- Provides overall strategic vision and operational leadership for all aspects of library operations to develop the library as a center of academic excellence.
- Inspires engagement and collaboration with a broad and diverse audience, including students,
faculty, and other stakeholders, to maximize the library's impact through forward-thinking leadership and innovation.
- Fosters a transparent and inclusive work environment to enhance staff morale.
- Advocates, plans, and implements library space redesign to accommodate the changing needs of students, faculty, and staff of the University.
- Creates and maintains appropriate guidelines and procedures to maintain and strengthen the
library's practices and services.
- Effectively manages the financial resources of the library to meet the evolving student body,
ensuring compliance with federal, state, and University policies.
- Engages and works collaboratively with library staff, faculty, and students to guide decisions
about library programs and services.


Required Qualifications:


- An earned Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited college or university.
- A minimum of five years of recent library management experience, with at least three years of
progressive experience in an academic library administrative position to inclusive supervisory
experience.
- Knowledge of contemporary library theory, trends, technologies, and best practices which are
important to academic libraries.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational leadership in a complex organizational setting,
including the effective management of fiscal, personnel, and physical resources.
- Understanding of library software, electronic search technology, and other integrated library
digital technologies, including institutional repositories.
- Ability to think analytically and to develop new or revised systems, procedures, and workflow.
- Understanding of digital preservation systems and open education resources.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships across campus through effective
communication and leadership.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with securing grants and fundraising initiatives.
